These 1-on-1 sessions are designed to be intimate and engaging, allowing only one family at a time, with a maximum of 6 people, ensuring you have your session with the piglets all to yourselves.

During this unique experience, your family will have the chance to meet and interact with our friendly Kunekune pigs, including the adorable piglets, all while taking in the peaceful surroundings of the farm. It’s the perfect opportunity to spark curiosity, foster a love of agriculture, and create lasting memories in a fun and engaging environment. You’re also welcome to capture these moments with your own photos—no professional photography is included, so bring your camera to make the most of this special session!

  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Pants (recommended if hay or grass bothers you or your child)
  • Rain/muck boots (highly recommended after rain)
  • Water bottle (recommended during hot months)

6. Can my children hold the piglets? 

No, children cannot hold the piglets during the Private 1-on-1 Piglet Experience. However, they can pet the piglets under supervision to ensuree both the children and animals are safe and comfortable. This allows for an up-close and interactive experience without stressing the animals or the kids. 

7. Can we bring pets?

For the safety of all attendees, pets are not allowed at this event.

8. Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available at First Roots Farm; please park in the designated areas on the grass.

9. What happens in case of bad weather?

In the event of bad weather, we will notify attendees of any changes or rescheduling. Be sure to check your email and follow us on social media for updates.

10. Can we do a uPick while at this event?

No, the flower fields are not available during this event as our flower season has ended. However, watch First Roots Farm socials for uPick opportunities next spring!

    • All children must be supervised by an adult at all times. This is a working farm, and we want to make sure your little ones are safe while exploring.
  • Kunekune Pig Fences:
    • Please be aware that our Kunekune pig fences are electrified for safety. Children and adults are not allowed to enter the pig fences. 
  • Farm Environment:
    • First Roots Farm is a natural environment with uneven terrain, insects, and potential allergens. Ensure that your children are dressed appropriately for outdoors, and keep them within designated picking areas for their safety. 
  • Respecting the Farm:
    • We want everyone to enjoy the fun and have a great time but be respectful of the animals and photography spaces. 
  • Trash-Free Zone:
    • Please bring any snacks or drinks you may need, but remember to take all trash home with you. We aim to keep the farm clean and tidy for future visitors.
