FAQ for First Roots Farm uPick Events
A Flower uPick + Vendor Market is the perfect way to spend a summer morning at First Roots Farm. Your advance-purchased uPick ticket reserves your entry into the flower fields, where you'll pick 15 stems to create your own bouquet. While you're here, take your time browsing our Vendor Market featuring local makers, coffee, baked goods, and handcrafted products. The Vendor Market is open to everyone, but Flower uPick tickets are required to enter the flower fields and must be reserved in advance.
Yes. Flower uPick tickets must be purchased in advance so we can manage the number of guests in the flower fields. When booking, you'll select an arrival time of 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, or 1:00 PM.
Each Flower uPick ticket is valid for one person and includes one 15-stem bouquet. If multiple people in your group would like to pick flowers, each person will need their own uPick ticket.
Your $33 ticket includes:
- Entry to the flower fields during your reserved time
- One 15-stem Flower uPick
- Use of our snips, baskets, and water for your flowers
- Access to the Vendor Market before or after your uPick
The Vendor Market is free to attend, but a Flower uPick ticket is required to enter the flower fields.
Yes! The Vendor Market is free to attend and shop. You're welcome to stop by, grab a coffee, browse the local vendors, and enjoy the morning at the farm. A Flower uPick ticket is only required if you'd like to enter the flower fields and pick flowers.
For the safety of all attendees, pets are not allowed at this event.
Yes, parking is available in our designated grass parking area. Please park as closely as possible to the vehicle next to you to help maximize space for all guests.
If we need to cancel due to severe weather, we'll notify you by email as soon as possible. Your Flower uPick reservation can be transferred to another scheduled uPick date of your choice, so you won't lose your visit.
By purchasing a ticket and attending this event, you acknowledge and agree that photos and/or video taken during the event may include you or members of your party. These images may be used by First Roots Farm and the event photographer for marketing and promotional purposes.
Per Wisconsin Statute 895.524(2)(a)2, a person who observes or participates in an agricultural tourism activity on this property assumes the risks inherent in agricultural tourism activities. These risks may include, but are not limited to, conditions on the land, the unpredictable behavior of farm animals, ordinary dangers associated with farming equipment, and the potential actions of other participants.
The agricultural tourism provider is not liable for injury or death resulting from these inherent risks.
First Roots Farm is a working farm. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we ask that all families review and follow the guidelines below.
All children must be supervised by an adult at all times while on the property.
Our Kunekune pig fences are electrified. Children and adults are not permitted inside pig enclosures. Please do not feed pigs or piglets grass or food by hand.
Our free-range hens may be out during the event. You’re welcome to pet them if they come to you, but please do not chase or pick them up. We do not keep roosters, only happy hens.
The farm includes uneven terrain, hoses, insects, and potential allergens. Shoes must be worn at all times.
Please bring any snacks or drinks you may need, and take all trash with you when you leave. We work hard to keep the farm clean and welcoming for future guests.
