First Roots Farm Refund, Return & Exchange Policy

At First Roots Farm, we take pride in providing high-quality products and memorable experiences — from flowers and farm events to dahlia tubers and pastured pork. Because many of our items are seasonal, perishable, or custom-grown, certain categories have unique policies outlined below.


Dahlia Tuber Return & Refund Policy

At First Roots Farm, each dahlia tuber is grown, divided, and inspected by hand. We take great care to ensure every tuber is healthy, viable, and true to variety to the best of our ability.

All Sales Are Final

All dahlia tuber sales are final. Due to the perishable, seasonal nature of tubers and limited inventory, we cannot offer returns, exchanges, or order modifications once a purchase is complete.

Product Quality

Each tuber shipped or picked up from the farm will have at least one visible “eye” (growth point). Natural variation in size, shape, and appearance is expected and does not affect quality or bloom performance.

Damaged or Unsatisfactory Tubers

If you receive a tuber that is soft, rotted, or damaged upon arrival, please get in touch with us within 4 days of delivery.
To assist with review, please include:

  • Clear photos of the tuber and shipping label.

  • Your order number.

We will review and, at our discretion, provide a replacement tuber or store credit for the affected item if inventory allows.

Weather and Shipping

We carefully package and time shipments to minimize transit risk. Once orders leave our farm, we are not responsible for delays, loss, or damage caused by the carrier or by extreme weather conditions.

  • Shipments may be temporarily held during freezing conditions for safe delivery.

  • Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping addresses.

Guarantee Limitations

We guarantee viability upon arrival but cannot guarantee growth or flowering, as performance depends on planting conditions, weather, and care.

Substitutions

If a variety becomes unavailable due to storage loss or crop failure, we reserve the right to substitute with a similar variety of equal or greater value. If a substitution is not available, a refund for that item will be issued.

Local Pickup

Customers choosing local pickup must collect their orders during the designated timeframe. Orders not picked up within the window may be forfeited without refund.


Clothing Standard Returns & Exchanges

Return/Exchange Period: Items must be returned or exchanged within 14 days of receipt.
Condition Requirements: Items must be in new, unused condition, free from odors, pet hair, and any signs of wear, washing, or staining.
Shipping Costs: Customers are responsible for return shipping fees unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect.

Exchanges

  • Contact us within 14 days of receiving your item to request an exchange.

  • Ship the original item back to us (customer pays return shipping unless defective).

  • Processing takes 5–7 business days once the item is received and inspected.

If the requested item is out of stock, you may choose store credit or an alternative item of equal value.
Exchanges are not available for grab bags, free gifts, or final-sale seasonal items.

Returns

Returns are eligible for store credit only; no refunds will be issued.
Initial and return shipping costs are non-refundable.
Items not meeting condition requirements may be denied and returned at the customer’s expense.


Flower CSA & uPick Standard Return & Exchange Policy

Due to the perishable nature of flowers, all flower sales are final.

If you receive flowers that are damaged, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt with clear photos and order details. We may offer a replacement or store credit depending on the situation.

Custom orders, seasonal arrangements, and discounted items are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange.


On-Farm Events Refund Policy

All ticket sales are final. Because of preparation costs and limited space, we cannot offer refunds or reschedules.

Customer-Initiated Cancellations

Tickets are transferable to another guest — please contact us at least 48 hours prior to the event to update attendee information.

Farm-Initiated Cancellations

In the rare case we must cancel or reschedule (e.g., due to severe weather), we will offer a new date or a credit toward a future event.

No-Show Policy

Tickets not used on the event date are considered forfeited.


Pastured Pork Return, Refund & Exchange Policy

All purchases of pastured pork are final due to food safety regulations.

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 24 hours with photos and details. Verified issues may be eligible for a replacement or store credit at our discretion.

Customers are responsible for proper storage and pickup. We cannot replace products damaged after transfer or left unclaimed.
