Together with Kendall Kuss Photography, Piglets + Pumpkins is one of our signature fall Micro Mini events at First Roots Farm!
Come spend an afternoon at the farm with 5-week-old Kunekune piglets, pumpkins, family photos, and drinks and treats from The Chai Company. This one is all about having fun together while Kendall captures the moments in between.
This is a group event with short, one-on-one photo time for each family with Kendall Kuss Photography. You’ll get your turn in front of the camera with the piglets and pumpkins, opportunities to pet the piglets, and time to enjoy the farm.
Each ticket also includes one drink from The Chai Company, with additional drinks and treats available for purchase onsite.

Piglets + Pumpkins Micro Mini Photo Session: A short and fun family photo session with Kendall Kuss Photography featuring our 5-week-old Kunekune piglets and pumpkins.

Two Professionally Edited Photos: Each ticket includes two professionally edited digital images. Your gallery will be delivered via email within four weeks of the event.

45-Minute Session: Your ticket is for a 45-minute group event time. Multiple families attend each time block, and each family gets their own brief turn with Kendall Kuss Photography for photos with the piglets and pumpkins.

Location: First Roots Farm, W1539 Roosevelt Rd, Oconomowoc, WI 53066. You can find us on Google and Apple Maps. Look for the First Roots Farm sign at the end of the drive.

Duration: Each time block is 45 minutes and includes multiple families. Your family will have a short, individual turn in front of the camera during that 45-minute window. This is a Micro Mini group event and is not a private 45-minute photography session.

Piglet Interaction: Yes, you can pet the piglets! Our Kunekune piglets will be about 5 weeks old and ready to be part of the fun. For their safety, guests may not pick up or hold the piglets.

Rain Policy: In the event of rain, the rain date will be October 18th. Your session will take place at the same time you originally selected. We’ll email all updates and confirmation details if the weather requires a shift.

Please Note: This is a group event and there are no refunds. Please plan to honor the end time of your session so the experience runs smoothly for all families. Parking is available on the grass in designated areas, and restroom facilities (porta-potties) are conveniently located near the parking by the pines.

Each family enjoys their own individual micro mini session, lasting just a few minutes — short and sweet, but designed to capture quick, magical moments with your family. This is a shared event with multiple families attending the same 45-minute block. Each family will rotate and receive their own private time with the photographer during that block.

Yes, parking is available in our designated grass parking area. Please park as closely as possible to the vehicle next to you to help maximize space for all guests.
If weather requires a change, the event will be rescheduled to the following day, and your session will take place at the same time you originally selected. When booking, please plan to hold both your original event date and the designated rain date on your calendar.

This is an outdoor, weather-dependent group event, and there are no refunds if the event is moved to the rain date.

By purchasing a ticket and attending this event, you acknowledge and agree that photos and/or video taken during the event may include you or members of your party. These images may be used by First Roots Farm and the event photographer for marketing and promotional purposes.
Per Wisconsin Statute 895.524(2)(a)2, a person who observes or participates in an agricultural tourism activity on this property assumes the risks inherent in agricultural tourism activities. These risks may include, but are not limited to, conditions on the land, the unpredictable behavior of farm animals, ordinary dangers associated with farming equipment, and the potential actions of other participants.

First Roots Farm is a working farm. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we ask that all families review and follow the guidelines below.
All children must be supervised by an adult at all times while on the property.
Our Kunekune pig fences are electrified. Children and adults are not permitted inside pig enclosures. Please do not feed pigs or piglets grass or food by hand.
Our free-range hens may be out during the event. You’re welcome to pet them if they come to you, but please do not chase or pick them up. We do not keep roosters, only happy hens.
The farm includes uneven terrain, hoses, insects, and potential allergens. Shoes must be worn at all times.
Please bring any snacks or drinks you may need, and take all trash with you when you leave. We work hard to keep the farm clean and welcoming for future guests.
