20 Mystery Dahlia Tubers

Each mystery bundle includes 20 visibly healthy, unlabeled dahlia tubers grown right here on our farm. Every tuber has at least one visible eye and has been carefully divided, and ready for fall shipping. This larger mix is perfect for growers who want to fill their gardens with color and abundance — no labels needed, just rows of beautiful blooms. All of our dahlias are cut-flower varieties grown for stem length, color, and form, but sometimes the tags go missing — and that’s when the mystery becomes part of the joy.

With over 5,000 dahlias planted at First Roots Farm in 2025, we’ve got a little of everything — from soft pastels to rich jewel tones, delicate petals to bold, full blooms. It’s the perfect way to expand your collection, discover new favorites, and fill your garden with color.

The mix offers a beautiful range of colors, forms, and bloom sizes, and while a few duplicates may occur, we do our best to include a diverse selection of varieties.

Your mystery mix could include any of the following farm-grown favorites: A La Mode, AC Devin, Alloway Candy, Arbatax, Babette, Black Satin, Bloomquist Daniella, Boom Boom, Bracken Rose, Bride to Be, Butter Cup, Cafe Au Lait, Cafe Au Lait Mini, Cafe Au Lait Rose, Cafe Au Lait Supreme, Camano Phantom, Caitlin’s Joy, Castle Drive, Chewy, Chilsons Pride, Clearview Lila, Colwood Hope, Connecticut Coral, Coral Bronze, Coralie, Crichton Honey, Diva, Evelyn, Ferncliff Crevasse, Ferncliff Pearl, Fidalgo Blacky, Franz Kafka, Genova, Ginger Snap, Golden Sceptor, Hy Patti, Ivanetti, Jessie G, Karma Lagoon, Lakeview Lucky, Larks Ebbe, Lilac Bull, Linda’s Baby, Maltby Pearl, Maroon Fox, Mikayla Miranda, Narrows Pam, Orange Fox, Oreti Candy, Peaches n Cream, Pink Isa, Pink Pearl, Purple Fox, Quiet Splendor, Rip City, Rivers Watermelon, Rose Toscano, Snow Country, Stillwater Becky, Strawberries n Cream, Sylvia, Tahoma Early Dawn, Tahoma Stellar Feller, Tahoma Tempest, Tartan, Valley Porcupine, Veca Lucia, Wizard of Oz — and more!

Perfect for gardeners who love a little surprise in their blooms or flower lovers looking to grow something new without overthinking the details.

NEED A HEAT PACK? A 72-hour heat pack must be purchased at the same time as your tubers to be included in your shipment. Orders shipped without a heat pack during cold weather are sent at the customer’s own risk. First Roots Farm is not responsible for tubers that freeze, suffer cold damage, or become non-viable in transit if a heat pack was not purchased. We highly recommend adding one for northern-state deliveries.

First Roots Farm Dahlia FAQ

Our Mystery Dahlia Tubers are available for purchase each fall, with shipping beginning immediately after harvest. Labeled varieties are released in spring and tend to sell quickly, so we recommend signing up for our newsletter to be the first to know when they’re live.

Mystery tubers are unlabeled, healthy dahlia tubers from our cut-flower fields — ideal for gardeners who value color and abundance over variety names.Labeled tubers include specific, named varieties like Cafe Au Lait, Sylvia, or Bracken Rose and are sold in spring

We offer bundles of 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 tubers, each hand-divided and inspected before shipping. Every tuber has at least one visible eye and is grown from our cut-flower stock.

All tubers are sold individually, not as clumps. Each one has been divided by hand and checked for a viable eye to ensure it will grow true to variety.

We guarantee that each tuber will have at least one viable eye when shipped. However, once they arrive, growth depends on proper storage, planting conditions, and weather — all of which are outside our control.

We currently ship within the United States only.

We can’t modify existing orders once placed. If you’d like to purchase additional tubers, please place a new order — it will be processed and shipped separately.

Please inspect your order right away upon delivery. If there are any issues, contact us within 4 days of receipt and include clear photos. We’ll help file a claim with USPS and make it right where possible.

We’re unable to issue refunds or replacements for losses due to improper storage, weather, or planting conditions. Refunds or adjustments can only be made for issues reported within 4 days of delivery.

Keep them in a cool, dry place (around 40–50°F). A basement or insulated garage works well. Avoid overly damp areas — excess moisture can cause rot.

Wait until the risk of frost has passed and soil temperatures reach at least 55°F. Plant tubers 4–6 inches deep in well-draining soil and full sun.

Our larger mystery bundles (30, 40, or 50 tubers) are ideal for small growers and flower farmers looking to expand their crop. For larger wholesale orders, please email us directly to discuss availability.

Inventory isn’t reserved until checkout is complete.

Orders shipped without a heat pack during cold weather are sent at the customer’s own risk. First Roots Farm is not responsible for tubers that freeze, suffer cold damage, or become non-viable in transit if a heat pack was not purchased. We highly recommend adding one when temperatures are expected to drop below 40°F along your shipping route.
